A Leyton man has been charged with murder after a 38-year-old man was shot dead in Queensbury.
In May 2018, Leon Maxwell from Watford was gunned down in Cumberland Road near Queensbury tube station.
Armed police were deployed and they found Leon Maxwell suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
Later that evening, a 26-year-old man attended a north London hospital with a gunshot injury. He has since recovered and left hospital.
Abdi Karama, 18, of Peterborough Road in Leyton, was charged with the murder of Leon and the attempted murder of a second man.
Detectives have charged six other people:
- Irwin Constable, 19, of Whippendell Road, Watford
- Saharded Hassan, 27, of Courtfield Avenue, Harrow
- Rajae Heslop, 20, of North Circular Road, NW2
- Armani Ogilvie, 18, of Leaner Drive, Harrow
- Kaleel Nyeila, 18, of Orchard Gate, Greenford
- and a 17-year-old boy from Harrow who can’t be named for legal reasons
The six people listed above appeared in court last Thursday, February 20 at the Old Bailey where they were remanded in custody to appear on a date to be set.
