Detectives have launched an investigation after a man's body was discovered.
Police were alerted at 1.40pm today (Monday) that a person had been found unresponsive in St James Park in Walthamstow.
Police attended but a man aged in his thirties was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. Formal identification awaits.
A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
At this stage the death is being treated as suspicious.
A crime scene is in place and enquiries continue. At this early stage no arrests have been made.
Police will be conducting increased patrols locally so residents can expect to see an additional police presence in the area.
