Completed in 1543 for King Henry VIII, the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge was once known as Great Standing, from which to view the deer chase across Chingford plains.
It’s thought that Queen Elizabeth I visited the Lodge in 1588 to the news of the defeat of the Spanish Armada.
This is the site of the Lodge today.
