The drinking fountain pictured above from c1900 on the corner of Station Road and High Road in Loughton was erected by the Metropolitan Drinking Trough & Fountains Association in 1870.
The fountain was hit by a bus on a foggy day in 1934, and rebuilt in timber in 1936.
The house in the background - formerly Browns Garage - is now part of a bakery and restaurant.
