Firefighters extinguished a Walthamstow house fire in under an hour yesterday.
London Fire Brigade crews rushed to the fire in Pendlestone Road at 4.08pm (Tuesday, March 9).
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Walthamstow, Leyton and Leytonstone fire stations were called to the scene.
Half of the ground floor of a mid-terraced house was damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.
Station Commander Andy Maloney, who was at the scene, said: "On arrival, firefighters were faced with a well developed fire on the ground floor of the property.
"They worked hard to swiftly bring the blaze under control and fortunately, there were no people involved."
The fire was reported under control by 4.56pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
