A Metropolitan Police officer has today appeared in court charged with the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard.
Wayne Couzens, 48, did not indicate a plea and was remanded in custody at Westminster Magistrates Court today (Saturday, March 13).
He wore grey clothing and spoke only to confirm his name and address.
Couzens, who works in the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, was arrested on Tuesday.
He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear again at the Old Bailey on March 16.
The body of 33-year-old Sarah was found in an area of woodland in Ashford, Kent, on Wednesday.
