A NINE-year-old boy watched his father being stabbed to death in Ilford yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 1.07pm to a house in Harvey Road, Ilford, where a 29-year-old man was found with multiple knife wounds.
The victim's son is believed to have been in the same room at the time.
DCI Carl Mehta is heading up the investigation and said that a formal identifation of the victim will take place tomorrow (Friday) and no drugs were found at the scene.
DCI Mehta added: "These are parties that are known to each other. The incident was witnessed by the deceased man's nine-year-old son who is understandably traumatised and unable as of yet to give us a statement.
"It was not a random attack and there isn't anything for members for the public to be concerned about as this type of crime is very rare in Redbridge."
A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident but has not been charged.
Call the incident room on 8345 3734 or crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you have any information.
