Pictured at the top of this page is charming photo of The Prince of Wales from c1913 when Chingford Hatch was just a small village .
Records date the pub back to at least 1862 when the publican was Thomas Mills. He remained for almost 30 years.
This pub was rebuilt in 1939 and despite a major refurbishment in 2000 it eventually closed in August 2008 to make way for apartments.
