Although many smaller traders may have disappeared over the years, giving way to shops from larger companies, there are still reminders of the past to be found on our high streets as a look through these pictures illustrate.
We have been looking back through our archives and are again pleased to bring you some more pictures showing how many of our traditional shopping areas have changed since the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
This week the focus is on Leyton, Walthamstow and Woodford Bridge.
