An 18-day art festival celebrating Walthamstow’s creatives and performers will come this summer.
The E17 Art Trail, which has a programme of more than 300 events, will take place from July 1 until July 18 this year.
More than 200 venues will host the programmes, with individual and group exhibitions, garden displays, open homes and studios, online and offline workshops and performances, film, fashion, singing and other activities.
Organised by Artillery, the festival will be themed around ‘possible futures’ and will showcase how local artists have overcome challenges of the climate emergency and recent social injustices.
To kick off the event, there will be an online art fair and grand opening night on July 1 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Laura Kerry and Morag McGuire, co-directors of Artillery, said in a joint statement: “We were unsure what to expect this year- but wow! Hundreds upon hundreds of artists and makers are taking part, either as individuals, in groups or as part of collectives of all ages and from across the local community.
“And we welcome everybody to our extraordinarily creative corner of London: whether you live, work, play, make or create here."
