Chingford Rotary Club member Ken Abiodon has been presented with a Paul Harris Foundation Award by District Governor Francis Uwaechi at an award ceremony.
The award, presented virtually because of Covid-19 precautions, was in recognition of Ken’s work as Rotary’s Assistant Governor for the East London Area.
In thanking the District Governor for the award, Ken said he was very honoured that his work should be recognised in this way.

The Rotary Club is for communities and can offer a wide variety of opportunities and experiences.
Give something back: If you enjoy helping others, connecting with Rotary gives you the chance to do something really worthwhile. What is more, as a member of Rotary you will benefit from being part of a large, internationally trusted organisation which is committed to ensuring that your efforts in helping local and overseas communities are well organised, productive and rewarding.
Fun and friendship: Rotary membership is a lot of fun. Every club arranges parties and activities which provide a welcome distraction from busy lives and the opportunity to make new friends who share common values.
Business opportunities: Rotary was founded more than 100 years ago as a business networking club and this is still a part of Rotary life. Ethical practice is encouraged and, with members drawn from all walks of life, the opportunities to network are endless.
A worldwide community: Join Rotary and you will be a member of your local club, and part of a vast international family of 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide. Wherever you are, at home or abroad, one of our 34,000 clubs in more than 225 countries is nearby, waiting to give you a warm welcome. Thanks to this unique common bond, many a travelling Rotarian in need of a local doctor, lawyer, dentist, hotel or other service has found assistance through the global Rotary network.
Personal development: You will develop your cultural and social awareness through membership of Rotary as well as public speaking, social, business, personal and vocational skills.
Opportunities to learn: Through Rotary's vast range of specialist speakers at club meetings you will learn about many fascinating subjects. Whether it be the global eradication of polio, helping children with disabilities, disaster and humanitarian aid or peace and conflict resolution, there is something of interest for everyone. Rotary also welcomes top speakers from business, sport and entertainment at our conferences.
