A man has been left with a head injury after a fight in a busy high street involving a hammer.
Police were called to Leyton High Street at 5.49pm to reports of men fighting and one armed with a hammer.
The Met Police says a crime scene and road closures are is in place and the man was rushed to hospital.
Officers are also appealing for witnesses to come forward and say there have been no arrests at this stage.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "“Police were called at 5:49pm on Tuesday, 31 August to reports of a fight and a man in possession of a hammer on Leyton High Street, E10.
“Officers attended and found a 21-year-old man with a head injury. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service; we await an update on his condition.
“No arrests have been made and enquiries continue. Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 5515/31Aug.”
