A 14-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck in broad daylight.
Police were called to Eynsford Road at the junction with Green Lane in Ilford at around 3pm on Monday (September 6) following reports of a stabbing.
The teenage girl was found suffering a deep cut at her neck, however the Met say that her condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
A female, whose age was not identified, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, and she is in custody.
A crime scene was set in place in the area, with parts of Green Lane cordoned off as investigations into the stabbing are ongoing.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed that a large team attended before the girl was rushed to hospital and said: "We sent a number of resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.
"We treated a teenage girl at the scene and took her to a major trauma centre."
