Although Covid Plan B will no longer be in place from tomorrow (Wednesday, January 26), Transport for London will keep the mask mandate in place.Β
The news comes after London's Mayor Sadiq Khan confirmed that TFL service will make it compulsory to wear a mask unless medically exempt, in order to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
Plan B saw the wearing of masks in public spaces and transport, vaccination passports, and working from home.

Discussing the topic of mask mandates, Mayor Khan said: "If we have learned anything from this pandemic, it is that we must not get complacent and undo all our hard work and sacrifices
"Thatβs why face coverings will remain a condition of carriage on TfL services."
Khan also added that he is still cautious of the spread of the virus, unlike Prime Minster Boris Johnsons's who according to Khan is in a hurry to ditch measures.Β
Saying that: "Iβm asking everyone in our capital to do the right thing and continue to wear a face-covering when travelling on TfL services to keep us all protected and to prevent further restrictions from being necessary later down the line."
