This scene has undergone a dramatic change over the years.
Theydon Grove on the left was demolished in the 1960s in favour of a housing estate.
Further demolition took place of some Victorian houses in 1971 to make way for the new offices of Epping Forest District Council.
Its tower can be clearly seen today.
