A tranquil Chingford Green c1900 with SS Peter & Paul in the distance.
Before the church was built in 1844, The Green was a large expanse of parish waste, grazed by sheep and formed a natural centre to the village with routes from the several hamlets that converged on it.
Today, The Green is a welcome green space in this busy London suburb.
