Police found a 20-month-old toddler alone with his dead mother after a hero nursery manager informed the police he had not been dropped off that morning.
Tarin Edwards alerted the police after she could not get in contact with baby Alman’s mother or uncle when he did not attend Busy Bees Nursery in Leytonstone.
When police arrived at Alman’s home they found his mother dead.

On June 13, Tarin received a Police Commendation Award for her prompt action to protect and safeguard a child’s life.
Tarin said: “I am delighted to have received this Commendation Award from the police, it is a huge honour.
"I am thankful that I followed my gut instinct and reacted quickly to ensure Alman was safe and unharmed.”
