A woman is in a critical condition after being found with head injuries from a possible assault early this morning.
Officers were called to Cranbrook Road, Ilford, at 2.44am today (Sunday 26) after a woman was found with serious head injuries.
Police have not yet been able to identify the woman, who was taken to hospital in a critical condition by London Ambulance Service.

Urgent enquiries are underway to determine her identity and contact her family.
Cranbrook Road has been closed between Holcombe Road and Beehive Lane for forensic investigations.
Police say they are making house to house activities and want to identify all available CCTV.
Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell said: “Our investigation is at a very early stage, but we believe the woman had been assaulted.
“It is vital that officers speak with every possible witness and everyone with information that may assist the investigation.”
Police say they are conducting forensic examinations and house to house enquiries.
No arrest has been made so far.
