LABOUR'S Khevyn Limbajee, 35, was selected by a large majority of local party members.
"My friends and neighbours encouraged me to stand. We all know there are many challenges for Leyton - the other candidates like to moan, but none of them have set out any vision or programme for Leyton.
"I don't just promise things, I get things done.
"I managed to get the massive fly-tip in Skelton's Lane cleared when nobody else had. That's the sort of councillor I will be: someone who will deliver.
"I was brought up by a single mother who believed in public service.
"That's why I'm a governor at Dawlish Primary School and a local campaigner.
"We need a hard-working councillor to make sure that the Olympics and other opportunities bring us more facilities, for young people, to cut crime and improve the streets.
"I am the only serious candidate who will fight to make Leyton a better place to live. I make things happen."
