Tottenham Hotspurs 3
Aston Villa 0
(Barclays Reserve League South)
SPURS' second string caused an upset at Brisbane Road last night after securing a comfortable win over league leaders Aston Villa.
Clive Allen's men secured their fist victory in six matches thanks to goals from Simon Dawkins, Adel Taarabt and Tomas Pekhart.
The hosts raced into a fifth minute lead, when striker Dawkins was sent clear by Taarabt, before cooley rounding keeper Thomas Sorensen and slotting home.
Tottenham continued to look dangerous and had a goal from Pekhart ruled out for offside, before they doubled their lead on 35 minutes.
Rose was bundled over in the box by Eric Lund and Taarabt stepped up to stick the resulting penalty past Sorensen.
Both sides continued to create chances after the break, but it was the Londoners who stretched their lead on 78 minutes.
Cian Hughton's cross deflected off Lund and Pekhart pounced on the line to poke home Tottenham's third.
Spurs: Button; Gunter, Archibald-Henville, Rocha, Martin; Parrett (Fraser-Allen, 50), Martin, Rose, Taarabt; Pekhart, Dawkins (Kasim, 82). Unused: Jansson, C Butcher, Cox.
