ACCORDING to a report in today's Mirror, Spurs skipper Ledley King is set to stun his critics with a return to action in Thursday's Uefa Cup clash against PSV Eindhoven.

It was thought that the England defender, who was left out of the trip to Birmingham on Saturday after aggravating the knee injury that has plagued him all season would sit out the first leg of the last 16 clash at White Hart Lane.

Certain sections of the media have even suggested that King will be forced to retire at the end of the season after he was visibly seen hobbling up the famous Wembley steps to collect the Carling Cup last Sunday.

But according to the Mirror today it appears that boss Juande Ramos is prepared to spare the 27-year-old from most domestic games, to ensure he is fit to lead Tottenham in their big for glory in Europe.

In fact the report also claims that King has been back in training since the weekend and will line-up alongside Carling Cup final defensive partner Jonathan Woodgate in the heart of the Tottenham defence.
