SPURS assistant manager Gus Poyet is fully aware of the test Dutch league leaders PSV Eindhoven will pose.
The Dutch Eredivisie leaders arrive at White Hart Lane for the first leg of the Round of 16 Uefa Cup tie on Thursday night, with a six point lead over Ajax in their domestic league.
And after beating Swedish side Helsingborg 4-1 on aggregate in the last round Poyet knows Spurs will have to be at their best to progress to the last eight of the competition.
"They are quite a young side, very organised and know how to play the game," Poyet told the clubs official website. "That makes them a dangerous team to play against.
"We know we will create chances so we have to take those chances and remain safe at the back, we have to be careful.
"When it's over two legs, you have to play with the overall result in mind, but we have to win the first leg. It's at home and we want to win. It's important to keep a clean sheet as well so to win 1-0 would be a good result."
And the Tottenham coach is fully aware of the role the fans also have to play at the Lane on Thursday night - where he has urged them to keep the great atmosphere going of recent weeks.
He continued: "It's been fantastic in the last few games at home and what about the final? That was amazing!
"It's something the players love and when you feel that extra from the fans, it's much easier. I'm sure the crowd will be unbelievable at White Hart Lane and that will help us."
