Millwall 5
Bancroft 10
(Essex One)
BANCROFT returned to winning ways with a narrow victory at relegation haunted Millwall.
Following three consecutive defeats, the B's were once again forced to field a makeshift team.
The hosts, who are fighting for their Essex one lives started strongly and soon made it evident that they were not prepared to give any quarter.
They worked their way into the visitors' 22 before recycling the ball a few times, eventually finding their winger to open the scoring on 12 minutes.
Bancroft stepped up the pace, although it wasn't until first-half stoppage time that they hit back.
Having eventually got close to the home line Burrowes managed to thread a pass to Robinson who crossed the line to level the scores.
Farrow then took an excellent conversion to give the visitors a 5-7 half-time lead.
Millwall came out for the second half fighting, but the B's were equally determined to secure the win.
And their defence held out with some excellent work from Smith, Thame and Cann.
At the other end the B's were given a chance to get some points with a penalty just inside the Millwall ten-yard line. Farrow stepped up and slotted the ball through the posts with an excellent kick.
Both teams had chances after that, but Bancroft held out for the win.
