SCHOOL HOCKEY
CHIGWELL School's U11s Hockey Team finished runners up in the Essex County Hockey Championships.
Felsted, were their first opponents and they lost 4-1 with Chris Halls scoring Chigwell's goal.
They beat Edwards House in the next game, but then drew against Brentwood Hockey Club.
They beat Woodford Green Prep School 2-1 to progress to the semi-finals thanks to goals from Chris Halls and Williams Sibley. Matthew Higgins and Tom Turner defended well.
Chelmsford were Chigwell's opponents in the semi-final and Edward Tyler slotted home the flick which sent Chigwell through to the final against Felsted.
Chigwell found themselves three goals down early in the game before Tyler pulled two goals back.
Jamie Colton produced some fine work down the right and managed to cross only for the Felsted keeper to clear with the goal at Chris Hall's mercy.
The Chigwell team battled hard but finally lost 4-2.
