PSV Eindhoven coach Sef Vergoossen has refused to rule out a Spurs comeback despite his sides first leg victory in the Uefa Cup clash at White Hart Lane last night.

Jefferson Farfán netted the only goal of the game to make the Dutch outfit favourites to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.

But Vergoossen believes Tottenham are more than capable of causing an upset in the return leg in the Netherlands next week.

"We'll take a one-nil lead into the second leg, but realise there are no guarantees in football. Tottenham are a capable and dangerous side," he said.

"We have earned a slender 1-0 advantage, but the tie is far from over. We stand a fair chance to reach the last eight of the Uefa Cup, but are well aware we haven't won anything yet.

"We were well organised, put pressure on their defence and moved the ball about fairly well. We scored a priceless away goal in the first half and got some good chances that could have seen us extend our lead even further after the break.

"We played well in the second half and 2-0 was closer than 1-1 ever was.

"Tottenham are a capable and dangerous side. They need to bounce back and I think it doesn't make that much difference to them whether they play at home or away."
