COUNCIL tax will rise by 3.4 per cent this year, Redbridge Council has confirmed.
The increase brings the total bill for a Band D tax payer to £1,376.14.
At a stormy budget meeting in Ilford Town Hall last night, a bid to reduce the proposed increases in charges for controlled parking zones was beaten off, as was an attempt to save the Mildmay Day Centre for the elderly.
The council tax rates for the coming year will be:
Band A: £917.43
Band B: £1,070.33
Band C: £1,223.24
Band D: £1,376.14,p>
Band E: £1,681.95
Band F: £1,987.76
Band G: £2,293.57
Band H: £2,752.28
