JUANDE Ramos was delighted to see his Spurs troops return to winning ways and is now looking for a top ten finish in the Premier League.

A Dimitar Berbatov brace, coupled with goals from Gilberto and Darren Bent saw Tottenham run out 4-0 winners against West Ham yesterday, to put back-to-back defeats against Birmingham and PSV firmly behind them.

"It was important to have a victory in order to recover some confidence," Ramos told the clubs' official website.

"We had a difficult match against PSV and it was important to get a good result after two defeats.

"The early goals made winning the game much easier, I saw the team was much calmer and reassured and we were in control for large parts of the match. To score two goals at the end made it even better."

Yesterday's victory saw Spurs close the gap between on West Ham to five points in the table, and with a game in hand Tottenham have a real chance of closing in on a top ten finish this season.

Ramos added: "We have a game in hand although it's against Chelsea, so that's a tough one and we have work to do yet.

"Five points to make up is quite difficult but we have to work and try to get as many points as we can."
