TOTTENHAM have been reported as one of the clubs that attempted to lure veteran defender Dario Simic away from AC Milan.
According to the 32-year-old Croatian's agent AC boss Carlo Ancelotti prevented his client from trying his luck in England During the January transfer window Simic admitted that he was pushing for a move away from the San Siro in order to help secure his place in Croatian national team for the 2008 European Championships. But despite a number of clubs in the Premier League for the former Inter Milan man, Ancelotti was keen to maintain a player who has been capped 96 times by his country.
"In January, Ancelotti stopped Simic from moving to England," revealed agent Marko Naletilic.
"There were offers from several British clubs, including Fulham, Everton and Tottenham."
Simic isstill likely to leave Milan in the summer,with Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow being the most likely destination.
