SPURS skipper Ledley King believes the north Londoners will come back stronger next season in Europe following their Uefa Cup exit.
Tottenham have already qualified for the competition following their Carling Cup success, and King feels they can learn from their penalty heartache in Eindhoven next time around.
"We have learnt from this and we will come back next year a stronger and better team," the Spurs captain told the clubs' official website.
"This was another trophy we could have won this season and it's a horrid way to go out, but we had our chances "We feel we have the players to win the competition and we had confidence in the team that we could get a result in Eindhoven.
"We set out to win the game and tactically we got it just right. It was just about us keeping our shape and pushing on to get the crucial second goal which we deserved.
"We were the better team and we looked the most likely to score again, but when it went to penalties it was a lottery.
"We still realise that we have a lot of work to do to maintain our standards of trying to win trophies and that's what we'll do."
