SPURS look set to rest skipper Ledley King at Manchester City on Sunday, as he continues to battle with a knee problem that has plagued him for most of the season.
King returned to lead Tottenham in their Uefa Cup clash at PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night, but was substituted after just 61 minutes. And manager Juande Ramos is thought to want to spare his captained a second game in under a week for the Premier League clash at Eastlands.
That could see Michael Dawson return to the starting line-up.
Scotland full-back Alan Hutton is also expected to return after being cup-tied in Holland in midweek.
Centre-backs Younes Kaboul (knee) and Ricardo Rocha (groin) have been carrying knocks, while Gilberto is back in contention after being dropped against PSV Eindhoven.
Gareth Bale (foot) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) are out for the season.
Provisional Spurs squad: Robinson, Cerny, Chimbonda, Hutton, Lee, Gilberto, Gunter, King, Woodgate, Dawson, Zokora, Tainio, Jenas, Malbranque, Lennon, Huddlestone, O'Hara, Boateng, Taarabt, Berbatov, Keane, Bent.
