OBSERVATIONS on insects, people and potatoes; Songs, poems and joining ins form a big part of John Hegley's forthcoming show at Millfield Theatre. He is an Edinburgh Festival regular who has also appeared in Australia, Canada, Colombia, Zanzibar and Luton - the small town of his upbringing. He has performed on the radio in five series of his own devising.
There have also been sporadic appearances on the telly with Wogan, Clive Anderson and Blue Peter. He has nine books, two albums and one mug to his name.
His latest show is about a letter in the style of D.H.Lawrence's ode to a baby tortoise which signals a chain of reactions to and continuations of existent writings. Another letter remembers a father showing the son his first earwig and this triggers a batch of animals in emotive situations.
