FORMER Arsenal star Robert Pires has quashed speculation about joining the Gunners fierce rivals Spurs by saying he 'could never wear the Tottenham shirt'.
Rumours had suggested that Juande Ramos could make a sensational swoop for the Frenchman, when his contract ends at current club Villarreal this summer.
But Gunners legend Pires has laughed of the suggestions linking with a return back to north London.
When asked about the possibility of him receiving an offer from Spurs, Pires told setantasports.com: "Is it a joke? They must have forgotten where I come from.
"They can make the offer, but I won't play for Tottenham. Seeing myself wearing their shirt would be weird, after the six years I spent at Arsenal.
"If they are interested that's encouraging regarding my age, they can make the offer."
