SPURS boss Juande Ramos believes he will gage the true worth of his current squad by seeing how they perform until the end of the season.
Following Wednesday night's Uefa Cup exit, the north Londoners have little to play for this season. They have already qualified for Europe and are all but safe from relegation in the Premier League, so there is a real worry that the Spurs players will take their foot off the gas.
But Ramos has issued a stern warning ahead of Sunday's clash at Manchester City, claiming that he wont tolerate his players thinking the campaign is already over.
"The UEFA Cup is a very difficult competition to win but we are out now so it is all about putting this behind us and simply concentrating on winning our next game," Ramos told the clubs' official website.
"I do not talk about pain lasting at all. In football you have to get on with the week ahead of you. We are in a very important and passionate competition, which is the Premier League and our job now is to climb the table between now and the end of the season.
"What I am interested in now first and foremost is how the players respond after the other night because there are still two months of very competition ahead of us. As professionals in this game, whether as coaches or players, you have to fight for every game until the last one at the end of the season.
"We have to continue to try and win every game that we play in. It is a difficult ask but that is what we always set out to do in every match we play."
Talking ahead of the trip to Eastlands, Ramos also took time to highlight the good job former England manager Sven-Goran Erikssonhas done since taking over City in the summer.
He added: "You have to say that he is a top manager..
"He did very well with the English national team during his time in charge and you can see from the results that Manchester City have achieved this season that he has done a great job with them as well so far this season."
