A REDBRIDGE man has been sentenced to ten months in prison for his part in one of the biggest fashion crimes of the century.
Amram Braha, from Gants Hill, was tried alongside two other men after they attempted to sell 133,000 pairs of fake Burberry shoes with a street value of over £1million.
The men paid 67p per pair for the Chinese-made shoes, which were part of one of the biggest hauls of fake fashion items in the country.
But they were foiled when Trading Standards officers mounted a dawn raid on a warehouse in Edmonton following a test purchase by a Burberry official.
The other two men, Bulent Imre and Alptekin Telci, both from Tottenham, received nine-month suspended sentences and 250 hours community service each after the trial at Wood Green Crown Court.
