West Essex Colts 11
Broomfield Percival 2

(Rural Friendly League Div One U10s) WEST Essex finished their season in style as champions with an emphatic victory - 5-0 in the first match, 6-2 in the second - giving an aggregate score of 11-2 overall.

Their proud record, having finished bottom of the same league last year, saw them win 12 of their 14 games this season.

And Colts went the campaign unbeaten after drawing their other two matches, scoring 117 goals in the process and conceding 31.

The Blue squad played first and Bell was unlucky when his mazy dribble into the box was stopped by a last-ditch tackle.

West Essex took the lead midway through the first half when J Greaves out wide on the flank, hit a thunderous shot into the net.

The Colts survived a few scares and had Shuttleworth in goal to thank for two fabulous saves.

In the second half, Bean pounced on a loose ball to lash it into the net for goal number two.

He was then unlucky to see a scorcher of a shot rattle the post before hitting the same post again with another effort.

This time however, the rebound was well steered home by Prevost to make it 3-0.

Murtagh made it four when he started the move from midfield and finished it in great style with a cracking drive from the edge of the area.

White then produced a piece of trickery on the wing before sending over a fine cross for Murtagh to steer home and secure a 5-0 victory.

The Red Squad played next and top goalscorer Bobani was soon off the mark when he broke clear to score following some magical play from Flood.

Morrison in goal was called upon to make a fabulous one-handed save to deny Broomfield before Kontor sent a lovely through ball to Flood who made no mistake.

Soon afterwards, a fabulous passing movement between Kontor, Bobani and Flood saw the latter coolly convert for goal number three.

Morrison was again called into action with another fine save but could do nothing about two quickfire goals from Broomfield just before the break.

In the second half West Essex moved up a gear and a lovely move between Lee, Evans and Kontor saw the latter crash the ball home to make it 4-2.

Minutes later, a long clearance by Morrison was neatly controlled by Flood before laying the ball across to Lee who made no mistake for number five.

Flood was unlucky with a shot that flew just over before he broke away and netted in clinical fashion to give the Colts a 6-2 victory and an overall 11-2 win.
