A GERMAN lorry driver has been jailed for 90 days following a fatal crash involving four lorries on the M25 near Waltham Abbey.
Johann Reimer, 38, from Aachen, was summonsed following the collision which happened between junctions 26 and 25 on September 13, 2006, and led to the death of lorry driver Markus Peeren, 37, also from Germany.
Reimer was also banned from driving for two years and ordered to take an extensive re-test before being allowed to drive again when he was sentenced for dangerous driving by Chelmsford magistrates yesterday.
Reimer had failed to appear at court for an earlier hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Police at the Port of Dover arrested Reimer in February.
