MEDIA reports this morning are suggesting Spurs manager Juande Ramos is set to start talks to secure a £4.5million deal for Espanyol keeper Carlos Kameni.
It is thought the north London club have placed a three-year contract on the table, although the Cameroon international's representatives are holding out for a four-year deal worth £30,000-a-week.
Both Tottenham and Manchester United have been tracking the 24-year-old gloveman for sometime, although it appears Ramos has beaten the Red Devils to his signature.
Last month Spurs assistant manager Gus Poyet confirmed the club were monitoring both former Le Havre keeper Kameni and his Espanyol team-mate Daniel Jarque.
"Kameni and Jarque are very interesting players and every player that is interesting is welcome at a club like Tottenham," Poyet told RAC1's 'Primer toc' programme.
And according to reports Kameni's agents IMG have given the go-ahead for talks to start.
"They are now negotiating a deal - and there is a hope that it will end positively," an IMG source admitted to the Mirror.
If Kamani does arrive at White Hart Lane this summer it could spell the end for Paul Robinson and fellow keeper Radek Cerny, with Villarreal's Diego Lopez a potential target as well.
