INTER MILAN have moved to quell rumours that the club made an illegal approach for Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb. writes James Randall.
The 26-year-old Belarusian was reported to have held secret talks with the Italian champions prior to his sides European clash with AC milan at the San Siro a fortnight ago.
However Internazionale have issued a statement to deny such rumours.
The statement read: "With regard to yesterday's report in La Stampa newspaper and the articles in the British press, F.C. Internazionale denies having met with the player Alexander Hleb, and has received no letter of complaint from Arsenal."
Hleb - who joined the Gunners in July 2005 - has been an integral part of the north Londoners impressive season, linking with fellow midfielder Cesc Fabregas to propel Arsenal to second in the league and into the quater-finals of the Champions League.
