FIFA have confirmed that they are reconsidering the punishment handed to Birmingham midfeilder Martin Taylor after his leg breaking tackle on Eduardo, writes James Randall. Football's governing body have told Reuters that they are meeting with the FA to review the sanction's, after the player received a three game ban for the horror tackle on Eduardo.
Sepp Blatter said: "We are considering a number of options, but one we could consider if a player is out injured for nine months, then the player who has caused him that injury also cannot play again until his victim has recovered."
The plans will worry the Birmingham player, after Eduardo faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines as a result of tackle.
A similar tackle by Chelsea left back Ashley Cole could easily have resulted in a similar injury in last nights derby game against Tottenham.
Spurs defender Alan Hutton - who was on the end of the challenge - was however unhurt by the high tackle.
