ARSENE Wenger has praised Mathieu Flamini for his professionalism whilst the players contract talks continue, writes James Randall .
The 24-year-olds contract expires in July and has yet to commit to a new deal, but boss Wenger is unconcerned by the lack of progress.
He told the clubs official website: "We are on course. Negotiations are going well and we hope to sort that out in April."
He added: "He is committed on a daily basis."
The midfielder has been a revelation at the Emirates this season fending off world cup winner Gilberto and fellow Frenchman Lassana Diarra to keep his centre midfield role.
Flamini joined the club for a free transfer in 2004, and his built a reputation of being able to fill in anywhere, after a run at left back in the 2006 Champions League campaign.
The Arsenal boss - who is unconcerned by speculation of a summer exit - praised the player's commitment to the clubs challenge for trophies this season.
He said: "He is committed on a daily basis. He behaves well and being a champion is about performing for your club until the last second of the season."
Adding: "That's what I call a real professional."
