COPPED Hall missed out on being named as the best film location after it was used as a backdrop in the First World War drama Flyboys.
The mansion was nominated for a Creative East award but was beaten by Ely Cathedral which won the award for its appearance in the film Elizabeth the Golden Age.
Essex County Council nominated Copped Hall which was shortlisted by a panel of judges who chose three other locations to compete for the Best Film title.
