Spurs might not have much more to fight for, but the Lilywhites still have an important role to play in this season's Premier League.
The majority of Tottenham's remaining opponents, starting with Newcastle United on Sunday, are either battling to avoid the dreaded drop or looking to secure a place in Europe.
The Magpies come to White Hart Lane this weekend expecting few favours, as Portsmouth and Chelsea discovered over the past week or so.
Though Spurs are just playing for pride, many individual players still have much to play for, such as their futures.
And Darren Bent, one of those whose future is far from settled, certainly took his chance on Saturday, coming off the bench to net a goal and setting up another as Spurs eventually saw off Pompey.
Boss Juande Ramos said he wants to finish as high as possible and he will not stand for any of his players easing off during the run-in. Not that there has been any evidence of that, as the last two visitors to White Hart Lane discovered to their cost.
Kevin Keegan's troops, lifted by a win over fellow strugglers Fulham at the weekend, will know their visit to North London will be as tough as ever. The pressure is of Spurs and they can just go out and entertain their fans, something Ramos is keen for them to do.
"It's possible to win by playing well and I think if you play well you are more likely to win," he said.
Sunday's game kicks off at 3pm.
