A RESURGENT Ilford Wanderers meet a stuttering Wanstead this Saturdayin aderby clash.

Brian Scahill'sRedbridge outfit have kept alive their faint promotion hopes with four wins out of five, toput to bed afestive season slump. Now third and four points adrift of the leading duo ofDagenham and Maldon, theForest Way outfit areputting their all intoefforts to securethe strong finish their effortsacross the campaign warrant.

Wanstead have not enjoyed such a dizzying ride, and languish in mid-table obscurity, eight points adrift of their nearest rivals. Two wins, a defeat, and two draws in their last five games sum up an indifferent season.

Heron's skipper Paul Christofoli said: "We are waiting for our luck to turn. Itjust has not clicked for us all season. Wanderers have recently emerged from a bit of dry spell, so hopefully we can give them a good gameandget a good win. We just worry about ourselves, and will look to defend well."

Ilford coach, Scahill said: "We are looking forwards to taking our form through to the end of the season. We have had a good season and have made a lot of improvements in all areas of our game.

"Wanstead have been mid-table and losing a few games, so we are confident. But everything goes out of the window when it is a derby. People have to be willing to put their body's on the line."

And it was Wanderers, who shaded the early season encounter with a narrow 10-5 victory in December.
