A music festival planned for North Weald Airfield has cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
MyFest hoped to attract young people to see a range of unsigned bands over the May Bank Holiday weekend (May 3 to 5).
Promoters have promised to refund creditors and the small number of people who had already bought tickets.
In a statement the organisers said: "We no longer believe there is a reasonable prospect of selling sufficient tickets either to cover the event costs, or indeed for the event to take place with a worthwhile number of spectators for visitors or bands to enjoy the experience."
Epping Forest District Council, which owns the venue and is the licensing authority for public events, confirmed that the application for a licence to hold the event would not proceed.
Deputy chief executive Derek Macnab expressed disappointment but hoped a viable event can be developed in the long term.
He said: "The MyFest proposal was on a relatively small scale and would have given us an opportunity to assess the scope of North Weald Airfield as a music venue. I'm sorry the promoters were unable to proceed. Hopefully, another opportunity will come along to test the airfield as an outdoor live music venue, in the not too distant future."
