ON-LOAN Spurs midfielder Hossam Ghaly will discuss a permanent move with Derby County boss Paul Jewell.

Ghaly's loan at Pride Park comes to an end at the conclusion of this season, but Jewell is keen to keep hold of the Egyptian for the club's bid to bounce back from the Championship after they were relegated last weekend.

Jewell told the Derby Telegraph: "I haven't spoken to Hossam about next season because I don't know what he wants to do but I will be sitting down with him.

"Hossam is a quality player and I will be trying to sign him. Whether he wants to play in the Championship or whether he sees his future elsewhere, that's another thing."

The 26-year-old former Feyenoord player sparked an outburst at White Hart Lane when he took off his shirt and threw it to the ground after being substituted in a match against Blackburn Rovers last season, which proved to be his final appearance for the club.

He has since been the centre of controversy at Birmingham City, where he refused to train after complaining about the club's training methods, despite Spurs agreeing a £3 million fee for his transfer.
