IF we are looking for anyone to blame for the spiralling costs of building the Ray Park visitors centre, then look no further than greedy developers'.
They are so intent on making money they continually disregard the community in this intensely overbuilt borough.
When plans for this visitors centre were first announced our council commissioned a company to design it within the funding available.
Consultations were carried out and in answer to Ron Wortley-Millek, yes, this centre is needed.
Most users of the park were excited with the design and looked forward to its completion, leaving us with a community centre, cafe, and library.
Unfortunately this company did not know what effects the Olympics would have on the construction industry, prices soared, contracts for building were plentiful. The construction world is in top gear.
We are disappointed to lose some of the eco features, but still look forward to it opening. Ray Park needs this boost and Redbridge Council's area two committee already have promised to refurbish the play areas with a £10,000 grant from our area budget.
