WHY does M. Pearson think that I am more concerned about vehicle damage than injuries to people at the notorious junction of Chelmsford Road/Woodford New Road?
Like many others, I dislike the fact that the concrete bases have been badly damaged as well as having caused a multitude of cars to be wrecked. If the concrete itself is splitting badly and is currently covered in engine oil, that tells me that it must be dangerous for pedestrians crossing at that point. They could be in the way of the next car crashing into the concrete.
As has been said previously, only if drivers were banned from turning right out of Chelmsford Road would the junction be safe, and the concrete bases would have a valid function in providing a refuge for people crossing a busy and fast road.
