TOTTENHAM are rumoured to be interested in Getafe central midfielder Ruben De la Red.
Getafe president Angel Torres has claimed Spurs want to sign the Spanish youngster, who is on-loan from Real Madrid, but insists the player will return to the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
"My impression is that, although Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal want him, De la Red is going to return to Madrid to stay," said Torres.
22-year-old De la Red, a defensive midfielder, has spent the first three years of his career at Madrid, but after making only ten appearances for the club, he moved to Getafe where he has enjoyed a run in the first team. He has also played a key role in the club's European ventures, where he has helped guide the Dark Blues to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup.
Spurs manager Juande Ramos has indicated that he is looking to bring in some new faces at White Hart Lane, and his fellow countryman De la Red would bring some much-needed protection to the Spurs backline.
