Upper Clapton 0
Bancroft 22
(Essex One)
BANCROFT kept up their strong finish to the season after coming out on top in this keenly contested derby at Upper Clapton.
In difficult conditions, the hosts started well and pushed the B's against their own try line, but the well-organised defence soaked up the pressure.
The visitors soon moved play into the Clapton half, and eventually opened the scoring on 24 minutes.
After a strong attack, Robinson drove through and fed Rowe for the opening try, which Farrow converted.
Shortly after the B's took another three points from the boot of Farrow.
The remainder of the half saw the home team pinned into their own half and after some constant pounding Clapton's defence couldn't hold firm any longer as Robinson crashed over. This time Farrow was wide with the kick to leave it at 0-15 at the break.
Clapton shuffled their pack at the start of the second half and it was Bancroft, who had to defend early on.
And it wasn't until late on that Barrett finished of the contest with a superb solo run in the last ten minutes with a fine individual try that Farrow converted.
