Tabard 12
Woodford 44
(London Two North)
WOODFORD just about made sure of their London Two North status for another season with a convincing win over already-relegated Tabard.
A dropped goal from Huw Levis put the Highams men in front, although Tabard responded with a converted try.
But the visitors grabbed a brace of tries from Simo Sigakalele and a further touchdown from Mike Lawlor.
And with Levis adding one conversion out of the three Woodford went in with a 7-20 advantage at the break.
In the second half, the visitors had the elements with them and they went further ahead following tries from Levis and number eight Robbie Connell.
As the game drew to a close the Woodford fullback Ray Luggeri, went over after a three-quarter move but Tabard replied with an unconverted try.
But it was the visitors, who had the last word when, from a lineout drive, flanker Lawlor went over again to complete the scoring.
Delighted coach Peter Christey said: "We were a bit nervy to begin with because we knew it was a must win game, but once we scored our second try we settled down and got the result we needed."
